EVIL TWINS

Anton Petrov aka Evil Twins was born in Moscow (Russia) in 1983. His early musical tastes were strongly influenced by his father, who is a proud hippy and introduced Anton to Blues Rock, Rock’n’Roll and Psychedelic Rock. Anton began studying music at the age of five, starting with piano and taking up guitar six years later. At the age of 14 he decided that he was destined to be a professional musician and continued his education first at a specialized musical high school and later at the Royal College of Music in London.

His arrival in the UK brought a huge change to his musical interests, and consequently his career, as he was introduced to the rich and diverse London rave scene. He was spellbound by the magical sounds of psychedelic trance and since then started collecting records and experimenting with synths and sequencers. The turning point in his career was to come in 2004 when he met with Giampiero Mastino aka Journey who invited Anton to take part in the at the time newly born Free-Spirit Records label, and taught him the art of mixing.

Anton played his debut set at the Eden Sounds party in 491 Gallery in 2005 and since then has played in such legendary London venues as The SeOne and The Fridge. He holds residency with the Free-Spirit Records label and Implosion party. His style ranges from ambient and psychedelic dub to deep and funky psy-prog, and from morning melodic full on to twisted and dark full power psychedelic trance. He also produces psy trance in the collaboration with Giampiero Mastino under the name Star~Trip.
